Miss World 1970: Beauty Queens and Bedlam

The story of the 1970 Miss World contest, when protestors dramatically disrupted the event, kickstarting a feminist revolution in front of an audience of millions. Working with director Hannah Berryman and illustrator Sarah McMenemy, we created all the animations that dramatized this entertaining and thought-provoking celebration of the eventful Miss World 1970. We cut out Sarah’s paper illustrations and used them to create a 3D pop-up world with a retro vintage feel appropriate to the era.
